Saitek av8r - p.o.s - posted in hardware and controllers, this stick is garbage. Ditch it (or pitch it) (or give it to someone you really don't like very much ) and get one you like.At all versions windows 7 customers who has this variation. Sometimes you buy a gadget that just doesn't suit you. It appears a bit pricey until you start looking at the cost of individual HOTAS components. Saitek av8r 01 software#With it engaged at 12 percent, the feel when I move the controls is very good and with the latest software I no longer need curves in any plane. I disagree about disabling the center spring. ![]() Saitek av8r 01 trial#I have a Logitech G940 and, after a lot of trial and error tweaking, am very happy with it (well, I wish the rudder pedals were a bit further apart). Never tried it, so I can't comment from experience but I'm afraid Saitek is swirling around the drain quality-wise. Saitek was sold to a company called Mad Katz (sp?), a company with a rep for shoddy peripherals, a couple of years ago.Īlthough it remains a separate division, Saitek has dropped some of its better products such as the Cyborg Evo Force 3D (I wore out three of them and immediately bought a new one each time but the last – no longer in stock) that I particularly liked in favor of newer ones like the AV8R. Not the most durable sticks but I really liked their responsive feel. I used Saitek sticks for many, many years. they plug into separate USB ports) so, in the unlikely event one of them craps the bed, the others aren't out of commission. Also, another point, the CH controllers are NOT reliant upon each other at all (i.e. The cords on CH products are really generous, but if you want to go longer, you can always get USB extensions. Saitek av8r 01 full#I really DO recommend them so you'll have full compatibility in the CH Control Manager software, but mixing and matching your controllers is not an issue at all normally. Also how long is the cord roughly? I have my comp hooked up to my 52 inch tv so I sit further back than the typical pc user.įirst, you are NOT limited to just using CH pedals. ![]() If I go CH I'm getting the fighterstick no question but I wanted to ask you am I limited to using CH rudder pedals? Ive heard good things from the saitek pedals at least and being 6'4 I could use the slightly wider foot spacing and tension control dial. Maybe I can just program a rudder to a switch on there or something till I can get the rest of the kit. I honestly don't mind the price of the full kit my only gripe is I just can't drop the coin on it at once with my current situation. TX - Thunderbolt, I really believe in the CH products line up. You can probably find one around the $75-$100 mark. That would address all your RoF needs and, with FFB, would be a nice fit as well. Taking a different tack, you could always look for a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 on Ebay or something like that. These two controllers would be less than a G940 (almost half) and still have some room to grow. The Combatstick would do fine, but the Fighterstick and pedals can be had for less than $200 if you shop hard and you could always add the throttle later on (here's a quick search on Ebay - Stick "> … 4cefb26217, Throttle "> … 4cefb26e26 Buy both now for $160!). If you want to go the CH route (which I strongly suggest), you could always get one of their sticks (you don't need the high-end Fighterstick) and the pedals. CH is easily the most precise and durable, but, as you've stated, they are pricey for the full kit. They have some really cool ideas but the quality and resultant durability is poor at best. Anyone have any suggestions? Recommendations for or against a particular product? CH seems to be superb in quality but no twist function and honestly I'm not looking to spend almost $400 to get the stick, throttle, and pedals. I don't know what to do anymore Ive lost my confidence in Saitek products. Saitek av8r 01 drivers#I've messed around with deleting calibrations, installing drivers programming software and still nothing. Then I actually get into the game and cant even get enough lift to get the plane of the ground when I pull back on the stick. Yea yea should of looked after the receipt better I get it, but damn 4 months? I tried adjusting the dead zone, fired up RoF and checked the response curve. During this time I moved to a new location and the receipt seems to be missing. The stick is off center and I've had it about 4 months. Saitek av8r 01 pro#I was going to go to a X52 Pro but now I don't think so anymore. ![]() I figured I would get a starter stick and then look to something that cost more in the 3 figure range. I wasn't expecting much since it was only 50 bucks and it was my first joystick (of my adult life, not when I was a kid).
